How do I place a bid on Agrilot?

Create a free account, browse active listings, and click "Place Bid" on any auction. You can bid the current minimum or set a proxy maximum — the system will bid incrementally on your behalf up to your limit.

What is a proxy bid?

A proxy bid lets you set the highest amount you're willing to pay. Agrilot will automatically increase your bid in minimum increments as other buyers bid, up to your maximum. You only pay one increment above the second-highest bidder.

Question 3

Can I inspect an animal before buying?

Every listing includes detailed photos, conformation video, and an AI-generated health and condition report. You can also ask the seller questions through listing comments. For high-value purchases, we recommend contacting the seller to arrange a veterinary inspection.

How does shipping work after I win an auction?

Each listing includes integrated transport quotes from vetted livestock haulers. After the auction closes, you can book transport directly through the platform. The seller prepares the animal for pickup at the agreed date.

Is there buyer protection?

Yes. Payments are held securely until the buyer confirms receipt of the animal. If there is a material misrepresentation in the listing, our dispute resolution process protects your purchase.

How much does it cost to list on Agrilot?

Creating a listing is free. Agrilot charges a small success fee only when your animal sells. There are no upfront fees, subscription costs, or hidden charges.

Question 7

What information do I need to create a listing?

You'll need the animal's breed, registration number (if registered), age, weight, health/vaccination records, and location. Our guided wizard walks you through each field. High-quality photos and a short video are strongly recommended.

How do I set a reserve price?

Accepted Answer

During listing creation, you can set a confidential reserve price. If bidding doesn't reach your reserve, the auction ends without a sale and you're not obligated to sell. Reserve prices are not visible to buyers.

How long do auctions run?

Standard auctions run for 7 days. We use a soft-close system — if a bid is placed in the final 3 minutes, the clock extends to prevent last-second sniping and give all bidders a fair chance.

When do I get paid?

Payment is processed within 3 business days after the buyer confirms receipt of the animal. Funds are deposited directly to the bank account you provide during seller setup.

Do I need separate accounts to buy and sell?

No. A single Agrilot account lets you both buy and sell. During registration you can indicate whether you're primarily a buyer, seller, or both — but you have full access to all features regardless.

What is the AI health report?

Our AI analysis tool evaluates photos and video to estimate body condition score, approximate weight, and flag potential health concerns. It supplements — but does not replace — traditional veterinary evaluation. Reports are generated automatically for every listing.

Which livestock categories does Agrilot support?

We currently support registered Angus cattle and sport horses. We're actively expanding to additional breeds and livestock categories. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when new categories launch.

Is Agrilot available outside the United States?

Agrilot currently serves buyers and sellers within the United States. Interstate transport logistics and compliance are built into the platform. International expansion is on our roadmap.
